Islander Tony Hewitt made a bet on Facebook last week that snow would not reach the Isle of Wight and we reckon it’s the last time he’ll be doing that.
He said, “if there’s snow here Friday, I’ll walk to Newport in me undies….”
That walk took Tony from East Cowes to Newport, not an inconsiderable distance – especially in freezing temperatures – with only a pair of underpants, a baseball hat and socks and shoes to keep him warm.
True to his word, Tony set off yesterday morning, capturing photographic and video evidence along the way of his pursuit (see below).
