Congratulations to Glenn Smith, a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Tissue Viability at St Mary’s Hospital who was last week awarded ‘Innovator for the Quarter’ for his outstanding contribution to innovative ideas with the Isle of Wight NHS.
We understand that Glenn is responsible for developing at least eight different projects and has been awarded £500 to develop the project of his choice by the NHS Innovations South East scheme.
The scheme was created to celebrate the work of staff within the NHS and reward innovative ideas with cash prizes, helping them to develop their ideas.
Shane Moody, Glenn’s line manager, put him up for the award saying,
“It’s a celebration of the success of nursing within the organisation and how innovation can positively impact upon patient care and research and development”.
Best of luck to Glenn who has now been put forward for the finals of the national innovation competition.
