Tour of Britain: Isle of Wight buses affected during the final stage of the Tour

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ll know that the prestigious Tour of Britain cycling race completes its final stage on the Isle of Wight on Sunday 11th September.

More than 100 riders will be setting off from Ryde at 11am and looping 80 miles across the Island to finish at The Needles.

As you might expect, there’ll be rolling road closures in place (see more) and parking restrictions on the route (see more).

Delays and changes
Due to this, all of Southern Vectis bus routes will be subject to delay.

The Needles Breezer will not run on the day. In addition, Routes 7 and 12 and the Island Coaster will terminate at Totland Memorial.

Southern Vectis say,

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please bear with us on the day. The delays will be worst between 11am and 4pm, and the road closures will be rolling, meaning buses will be running to their route, just late if caught when the race is passing through.”
