Train information boards not working at Portsmouth Harbour station (updated)

Portsmouth Harbour station has been affected by a problem with its IT systems leading to the information signs not working properly this morning.

Those departing from the Fastcat to meet a connecting train said they had difficulty working out which train to board.

However, by 12.55pm the systems were now back up and running at Portsmouth.

Jackson: People getting off the Fastcat aren’t happy
News OnTheWight reader, Christopher Jackson, got in touch to pass on the information. He explained,

“I’ve just got off a busy Fastcat service from Ryde to Portsmouth and not sure if you are aware, but the information boards that show the train timetables at Portsmouth Harbour Station aren’t currently working.

“There is also a lack of staff around at the station to help answer questions/queries so people getting off the Fastcat aren’t happy and am having to get on any train without knowing if it is heading in the right direction or what time it leaves.”

SWR: Being investigated
A spokesperson for South Western Railway told News OnTheWight,

“The problem has been raised with our providers as a priority and they are investigating the issue.

“We hope this issue will be resolved later today, but in the meantime, colleagues at the station are on hand to assist customers with their journeys.”
