According to research by Legal & General, British Mums spend an estimated 98 hours a week cooking, cleaning and carrying out childcare.
If they were paid £10 an hour for their services, they’d be earning over £50,000 a year. Nice work if you can get it.
Of course, we all know that our Mums do the unpaid work for the love of their families, so it’s only right that once in a while they’re made to feel that extra bit special.
Mothering Sunday
The custom of Mothering Sunday (happening this coming Sunday in case you’ve been hiding under a large stone) can be traced right back to ancient Greece, and those guys knew a thing or two about how to celebrate.
These days, Mothers are officially worshipped once a year all over the world, from Bangladesh to Paraguay, from Bolivia to Sri Lanka.
