It’s great to hear that the UKSA (UK Sailing Academy) has just presented three UKSA Yachting Cadetship students with funding from Trinity House.
These lucky three were selected as the most enthusiastic and deserving candidates following a gruelling selection process.
They’ll have 90% of their tuition fees paid and a monthly allowance during the three-year UKSA Yachting Cadetship programme, which is designed to provide qualifications and skills to gain employment in the superyacht industry.
It’s part of the Leisure Industry Nautical Cadet Scheme (LINCS) that is developed by the charity arm of Trinity House.
UKSA’s Chief Executive Jon Ely praised Trinity House’s involvement and said,
“For many people looking to enter the industry, funding can be a challenge. I fully believe that the UKSA partnership with Trinity House under their new LINCS funding scheme will allow our three students to go on to have excellent careers in a very exciting and ever growing industry, an opportunity they may not have been able to pursue without it.”
Yachting Cadetship programme
The Yachting Cadetship programme is a three-year blended learning programme unique to UKSA, designed to provide a broad base of training including all qualifications up to MCA Officer of the Watch together with the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean.
The programme is delivered through classroom and practical training at UKSA and paid employment phases in the superyacht industry.
