Two Men Questioned Over Poisoning of East Cowes Man

Police TapePolice can confirm they are investigating the death of a man in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight.

Officers were called to an address in Albany Road shortly before 7pm on Friday, December 2, 2011. A 41-year-old man from East Cowes, Isle of Wight was pronounced dead at the scene.

Post-mortem examination this week
Next-of-kin and HM Coroner were informed.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place this week to help establish the cause of death.

Police will not be in a position to name the man until all formal identification procedures are completed.

Two men arrested
A 40-year-old man and a 37-year-old man, both from East Cowes, Isle of Wight, were arrested on Monday, December 5, 2011.

They were questioned on suspicion of administering poison with intent to endanger life, and the circumstances surrounding the death.

Both suspects were later bailed until February 6, 2012 pending further enquiries.
