UK Coach Awards Judge Wightlink As ‘Best Sea Crossing’

Wightlink been have named as providers of the ‘Best Sea Crossing’ by the judges of the UK Coach Awards.

UK Coach Awards ShortlistIf you haven’t heard of it before, the organisers of the UK Coach Awards (started in 2009) declare the awards are, “designed to recognise and reward quality and success in the UK coach and coach tourism industry – to promote coaching, to inform customers about quality and success, and to inspire others to follow the winners’ examples.”

The nominations for Wightlink’s category came from coach companies.

In selecting this category, the judges said, “This award is designed to recognise and reward providers of services such as meals, sea crossings, event tickets and accommodation. We were looking for those suppliers who have made outstanding efforts to accommodate, attract, and welcome coaches, their drivers and their passengers.”

When explaining why Wightlink were named as ‘Best Sea Crossing’ – the judges, “commended Wightlink’s regular workshops for coach and group operators, the familiarisation visits plus regular mailings and offers for coach and group tour organisers.”

They finish by saying, “There is a strong impression that Wightlink management is totally committed to the coach and group tour business and always seeking to improve services for operators.”

Red Funnel were listed in the Highly Commended section along with Stena Line and P&O Ferries.
