Unwind this bank holiday with a concert of beautifully moving sacred choral music

If you are looking for something different to do this Friday bank holiday, why not head to Quarr Abbey as Salutaris present ‘Renaissance to Contemporary Sacred Choral Music’.

We happened to be visiting Quarr Abbey last weekend and overheard the choir practicing the programme – it was incredibly beautifully moving.

The programme for the concert includes:

  • Drop, drop slow tears (Gibbons)
  • Ave verum (Bryd)
  • If ye love me (Tallis)
  • Alleluia (Palestrina)
  • Jesu, dulcis memoria (Victoria)
  • Dixit Maria (Hassler)
  • Sicut cervus (Palestrina)
  • Locus iste (Bruckner)
  • Abendlied (Rheinberger)
  • Salve Regina (Poulenc)
  • Nimrod (Elgar)
  • Ubi caristas (Gjeilo)
  • Cantate Domino (Jenkins)
  • Magnificat (Part)
  • Ave Maria (Dubra)
  • Ave verum (Stopford)
