Those keen for an update on Peter Venner’s involvement with the flotilla into Gaza, will be pleased to hear that we have some news to share this morning.
Island resident Peter Venner, was due to return to the Mavi Marmara in May to sail with others taking part in the flotilla hoping to break the Israeli blockade and deliver much needed aid to those in Gaza.
After heading to Istanbul for a rally, Peter discovered shortly afterwards that the Mavi Marmara would not be sailing with the flotilla this year.
The exact reasons why it won’t be taking part in the international flotilla are not yet clear, but we understand that it’s possible it may join them later in the year.
If that happens, Peter confirms that he will be on board.
15 boats taking part
A total of 15 boats are taking part in the flotilla into Gaza.
