One of the items on the agenda for the Ventnor Town Council meeting tonight is an update of the situation regarding the railing along Ventnor Beach.
Readers may remember the outcry that emerged when the Isle of Wight Council proposed railings along the section of Ventnor beach where the Victorian beach huts are placed.
We interviewed longshoreman Jim Blake at the time and also his daughter Sophie who both look after the beach and were vehemently opposed to the railings.
We read in the South Wight Chronicle a couple of weeks ago that the Council has thankfully done a u-turn on their decision and that the railings are definitely not on the cards anymore.
We look forward to hearing more tonight at the TC meeting.
