The Ventnor Carnival Association are looking for a volunteer to design their new Web site.
They tell us that its creator will have a free hand to produce a vibrant and exciting Web site worthy of Ventnor.
The ideal candidate could be any age – either a professional with time to spare, a gifted amateur, or a student in the field wanting to make an impression.
Those concerned about having to be involved with a ‘committee lifestyle,’ need not fear, the job will not entail joining the Carnival Committee and since the ideal candidate is likely to be an eccentric odd ball they say they wouldn’t want you on the Carnival Committee even if you wanted to join – so no interminable committee meetings for you.
They’re very upfront with what sort of financial recompense you’ll be getting – The benefit package consists of-: Salary”¦.. £zero, Pension”¦. nope, Company Car”¦”¦ you must be kidding, Expenses Allowance”¦. you’ve guessed it, no.
VentnorBlog offer of support
We’ve offered to support the Ventnor Carnival Association by donating free Web hosting and use of a content management system to make it easy for anyone in the Association to publish news without having to get stuck with learning technical stuff.
To make use of our offering, the designer would need to design a WordPress template or work with a friend who knows how to do it, not much of a challenge these days as it’s pretty much _the_ standard.
Of course the prospective designer is free to design the site as they choose and not use WordPress, just we wouldn’t be able to host it.
