Volunteer for Ventnor Fringe and get to see a variety of great shows

Join the Ventnor Fringe 'festival family' and get to see a wide range of great shows this summer

With only a few weeks to go before this year’s Ventnor Fringe, organisers are calling for more volunteers to join the team behind the ten-day cultural celebration.

The festival runs entirely on the support of dedicated volunteers, who come from across the Isle of Wight and further afield.

Organisers describe this community as the “festival family”, and the volunteers play a vital role in keeping the event safe and running smoothly from start to finish.

Wide range of roles on offer
The festival offers a variety of ways for people to get involved.

Volunteer roles include box office work, stewarding, technical support, marketing, and help with building and decorating the site. Positions are available before, during, and after the festival.

Three core teams form the backbone of the volunteer programme: Stewards, Box Office, and Build Crew.

Inclusive and welcoming
Organisers are keen to create a friendly and rewarding experience for all volunteers.

They say,

“We want to make sure that all our volunteers are able to enjoy their time whilst working with us at the festival, and have the opportunity to see some great events as well as gain experience and in many cases make new friends for life!”

People of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to get involved.

A volunteer’s view
Amy, who has volunteered at the Fringe before, said,

“When volunteering at The Ventnor Fringe you completely immerse yourself in the celebration of all art forms, meeting the kindest and most talented people you could imagine all in the most amazing town.

“Giving my time to The Fringe was one of the greatest decisions I’ve made, it’s my favourite week of the year and I have a family there for life.”

How to get involved
Anyone interested in volunteering can fill in a registration form online.

The team will review applications and contact those who are successful.
