Earl Mountbatten Hospice is currently planning the opening of a charity shop in the East Cowes area in December 2012 to add to its eight successful retail outlets across the Island which continue to raise funds for the Hospice.
This is a very exciting time for us and a fantastic opportunity to offer volunteering opportunities for people in the surrounding area. We are looking to recruit volunteers to work alongside the Shop Manager as shop assistants and/or donation sorters to support this exciting new venture as it evolves.
Training provided
Retail experience is not necessary as training for both roles will take place at our Donation and Distribution Centre on the Riverway Estate, Newport during October and November.
This ensures that all volunteers will feel confident in their roles when the shop opens as it is bound to attract a lot of attention in the town especially in the run-up to Christmas.
Over 500 people volunteer with the Hospice
With over 500 people currently volunteering to support, help and work with Earl Mountbatten Hospice we depend on members of the community to come forward at this very busy time of year.
If you are interested in volunteering in the new East Cowes shop please contact Kath Bright, Retail Team Leader at the Donation and Distribution Centre on 01983 244230.
