You might have heard about the snow-storm in a tea cup, that Nokia had excluded the Isle of Wight from a competition to win the bringing of a Finnish market; 8 tonnes of snow; reindeer; Father Christmas; etc to the winning UK town.
Nokia originally said that bringing all of that to the Island – particularly the 8 tonnes of snow – would be too expensive, but now they’ve relented and are allowing entries from the Island.
IW Radio has sorted out a way for Islanders to submit their entry, as the official Nokia site still doesn’t have the ability to vote for the Isle of Wight.
It got us thinking, if Nokia is going to the trouble of bringing eight tons of snow over to the Island, they’ve just as well bring it to somewhere where the temperature is the highest on the Island – Ventnor with its microclimate. Just a thought.
