Popular Island entertainer and magician Greg Chapman has released his first eight-part magic series, ‘Greg Chapman’s Magic Show’, and the whole series was filmed right here on the Island.
Filming focused on the Freshwater Memorial Hall and in a historic carriage at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, and featuring appearances from a number of Island residents.
Inspiration for the style of the series
Greg describes his inspiration for the style of the series as somewhere between ‘the Golden Age of Victorian Magic’ and ‘Paul Daniels’, who Greg grew up watching on TV.
From visual comedy magic to mindreading
The magic ranges from visual comedy magic to mindreading and was designed with the hope that people of all ages will watch it, and hopefully, families will gather around to enjoy it together as they do at Greg’s live shows.
Although he had never planned to release a magic series, Greg ended up performing a lot of virtual shows on camera throughout the pandemic and decided to transfer the skills he had learned working with the camera into this series to share some magic far and wide.
You can watch the show, free of charge, online via PlexTV.
