Following the yesterday’s report of the problems residents in Brading have been experiencing for weeks with raw sewage running down the High Street we’ve now heard back from Southern Water.
A spokesperson from Southern Water told On The Wight, “We understand people’s concern about this issue and have been trying to find the cause of the problem. However, it appears to be complex and needs further investigation.
“Our contractors will be carrying out an excavation this week, when they will dig down to the sewers and hopefully establish exactly what is going on.
They went on to say, “We are taking this seriously and are keen to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.”
