Wight Surf History Website Launches Today

Wight Surf History Website Launches TodayRegular readers will already be aware of the Wight Surf History exhibition that we’ve been plugging for the last couple of weeks.

The exhibition may well finish at Dimbola Lodge this Sunday but the project lives on …. in the virtual world.

An important part of the project, that will chart 50 years of surf history on the Island, is a dedicated Website.

Officially launched this morning, the new site aims to provide a wealth of information about the surfing scene on the Island (or should that be just off the Island?) over the last 50 years.

Blogs are being created with surfers’ memories and experiences, as well as visual history too. Photo galleries from the five decades are being added to the site with some great captures of surfing dudes and huge waves.

Check out the site and if you’ve had anything to do with the surfing scene over the last 50 years, make sure you add your tuppence worth.
