Sales of Wightlink’s charity calendar have raised £460 for a maritime charity founded by one of the company’s Masters.
Safer Waves provides information and support and information to merchant seafarers who have experienced sexual violence or gender discrimination while working at sea. It was set up by Captain Becky Golabek.
Wightlink’s calendar features striking photos of the company’s ferries and at ports, all taken by members of staff. Captain Jerry Saltonstall contributed a stunning sunset from the Bridge of St Clare looking out over Gosport, which was voted the most impressive image by Wightlink’s judging panel. He chose Safer Waves to benefit from the sale of the calendars at ports and on ships.
Becky says,
“We are delighted that Jerry chose Safer Waves to receive this donation from Wightlink.
“Thanks to everyone who bought a calendar, we will put the money to good use.”
