Witnesses Sought Following Collision In Ashey Road

Constabulary LogoOfficers from Shanklin Roads Policing Unit are investigating a collision which happened on Ashey Road at the junction with Deacons Lane, Isle of Wight, yesterday. (weds18)

The collision happened shortly after 6pm and involved a Honda CBF motorcycle and a Citroen Saxo.

Life-threatening injuries
The rider of the motorcycle , a 34-year-old Ryde man was taken to St Mary’s hospital by ambulance where his injuries were established to be life threatening.

He underwent emergency surgery and his condition is now described as stable.

The 18-year-old Saxo driver was shaken but uninjured.
