Did you hear that a yacht exploded in Whitecliff Bay last week? Well, more accurately, it was deliberately blown up.
It was all part of a systematic abuse of a 40-foot craft by Yachting Monthly. Given the shocking nature of this trial, it was the last in the series.
Ka-boom!
The idea behind the destruction – carried out with the attendance of the Royal Navy explosive experts and RNLI – was to warn sailors about the potential danger of cooking gas on board boats.
As you’ll see from the video below, the effects were … eventually … quite dramatic.
