YMCA to Develop Future Leaders YMCA Fairthorne Manor is proudly championing a new scheme for ‘future leaders’ aged 16 – 18 year olds.

The Young Leaders in Action is a brand new residential camp at YMCA Fairthorne Manor, designed especially for 16-18 year olds.

Fantastic opportunity
Claire Percival, Community Projects Co-ordinator, said; “I am really excited about this new camp and the opportunities it opens up for 16-18 year olds. This is a fantastic chance for young people to develop the confidence and leadership skills needed to move into the world of work, training or education.”

Spending seven nights under canvas, young people will take part in a series of hands-on activities, putting their skills into use, working alongside YMCA staff with children and young people.

Based in YMCA Fairthorne Manors 111 acres of park and woodland, participants will build confidence in leading as well as working as part of a team and will gain the skills to develop and deliver activities for children and young people.

Journey of personal development
With a focus on the individual, the camp will take each young person on a journey of personal development.

As well as teaching new skills, the camp will focus on existing talents and how to take them to the next level.
