You can help inform the future of Ventnor Skatepark

The first consultation session of the Ventnor Skatepark Project took place last week and was reported to be a success, with lots of ideas coming forward from the younger skaters.

This Thursday (25th February) sees the second consultation session, for adults, take place between 8-10pm at Ventnor Exchange (the former Post Office), Church Street, Ventnor.

It’s open to anyone who wants to share their ideas (or concerns).

Full details of the design concepts (including images and a video) can be seen here.

Exciting developments
One of those spearheading the project, Zoe Thompson, told OnTheWight,

“2016 has been great so far for the skatepark project, the planning is picking up pace and is really exciting.

“We have been in communication with a number of skate park build companies, their feedback so far has been really positive, and they have been surprised with how much of planning we have done ourselves and that standard to which we have achieved this.

“The trustees and committee members are working really hard behind the scenes, so every time someone donates to the skate park fund it really does mean a lot.

“We now want to open up the planning to more people, particularly scooters and BMX users. We are hoping our consultations sessions will allow people to find out more and share their views.”
