Congratulations to eleven young Islanders who last night received Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards at a special ceremony taking place St James’ Palace in London.
Sarah Burnham, Charles Blake, Luke Potter, Robert Clifton, Joseph Staunton, Charlotte Carver-Price, Gargie Ahmad, Piers Crawford, Laura Grubb, Louise Parsons and Charlotte Mousley all received recognition for their hard work.
The Isle of Wight council tell us that later this month they will host the annual Duke of Edinburgh presentations event at the Community Learning Centre at Westridge.
Here over 30 young people will be recognised for achieving either a bronze, silver or gold DofE award. They also say that a number of volunteers who help with the DofE scheme will also be given certificates for their help.
