Boat House garden and road flooded by Judy Rodrigues

Your photos of the Isle of Wight under water today following torrential rain

The Isle of Wight has really seen the impact of torrential rain today, from the the landslip in Wheeler’s Bay, to the severe damage to Shore Hill in Ventnor.

However, the South of the Island was not alone, as roads in the north and east were affected too.

Closed roads
Island Roads had to close Beaper Shute and Nettlestone Hill due to flooding, whilst Coach Lane in Brading was closed for repairs following flooding.

By the end of the day, Shore Hill was the only road that remained closed due to flooding.

Tune into BBC South Today from 6.30pm to see some of the Island’s worst affected areas featured.

Photos from across the Island
Our thanks to Judy Rodrigues for use of her photos below taken in Seaview earlier today.

Thanks also to Todd Batchelor for the shots of the flooded train line. He says it was all cleared within a couple of hours.

Chris Gutteridge almost ran into the Ventnor Esplanade paddling pool this morning, after it became totally submerged. Thanks to Chris for sharing his pics.

If you were affected by the flooding, we hope you are all OK now.
