Arthur Venables:

Challenging conditions for cyclist on 25 mile time trial

Thanks to Arthur for this latest …a3crg cycling report. Ed

Junior rider Arthur Venables headed over to the p885/25 course on Monday 14th July for a 25 mile time trial that went along the A3 from Buriton to Liphook. The weather forecasts predicted favourable weather for the time trial, but by the start of the time trial the conditions had become more challenging.

Personal best for Venables
Venables set a personal best for the 25 mile distance, with a time of 59:38, which is an average speed of 25.1mph. This is also the first time that Venables has gone below the hour for 25 miles in his short time of competing cycling, achieving one of his season targets as he works towards taking part in the Junior National 10 mile TT at the end of August.

A couple weeks prior to this, Matt Harris set a personal best time for 25 miles of 52:51, with the time being fast enough to qualify for the National 25 mile TT next year.
