YouTubers meet-up on the Isle of Wight

Three well-known YouTubers* are looking to arrange a meetup on the Isle of Wight today.

Sarah Close (@Sazclose); Callum McGinley (@Callux) and My Name is Chai (@MyNamesChai) are all over on the Island, enjoying what it can offer.

Sandown Pier at 5pm
They’ve sent Tweets out to their collective 150k+ followers inviting anyone who’s near Sandown at 5pm to drop over to see them at the pier. So if you’re near by, do drop by.

Sarah has a connection to the Island and her YouTube channel has many video of her singing, as well as her vlogs, which include one that’s recently taken her to Paris Fashion Week.

Callux has over 400k+ follower on his YouTube channel and MyNamesChai (@MyNamesChai) is no slouch with close to 200k on his.

How come?
OnTheWight spoke to David Thornton earlier today, who said Visit Isle of Wight had encouraged the YouTubers to come over, with the idea being thought up by Oli, who works at VoIW.

Should be interesting to see what the YouTubers have to say about the Island and if it ends of bring the younger generations to the Isle of Wight.

*What’s a YouTuber?
* If you’re not familiar with the term YouTuber, best have a word with a 13/14 year old. YouTubers are people who put up regular videos on their YouTube channels. 13/14 year olds (and other :) ) watch a lot of content by them.
