Police investigating the death of a man in Green Lane, Cowes in the early hours of Monday, March 2 are now in a position to confirm his identity.
The 72-year-old man’s name was William James Maguire.
A 52-year-old man arrested in connection with the death remains on police bail until June 9 pending further enquiries.
Our thoughts are with William’s family and friends.
