High Tide Stops Train Running Up Ryde Pier (Updated)

We’ve just been called by a VB reader to tell us that the train has been stopped running up to the Pier Head in Ryde.

The tide is so high currently that the water is lapping over the train lines – and given they’re powered by electricity, they feel it’s best to not run it.

Train passengers are being asked to get off at Ryde Esplanade and to walk up the pier to get to the boats.

The VB Tipster added, “… and as the boats are just running at 45 mins past you have to pelt up the pier from getting off the train at the Esplanade!!”

We’ll contact Wightlink and ask them to let VB readers know when the train will be back in service – once the tide drops enough we’d imagine.
