Back in August this year, the Isle of Wight council made an announcement about the latest SATs results.
We thought you’d appreciate some more details, so (inspired by the Guardian) we gone through the information on the Department for Educations site and have translated into, what we hope, is a far more readable form.
BTW – SATs are Standard Attainment Test
Comparing Island results to England
When comparing to the rest of the England, English at level 4+ is the closest at 80%, matching the average in England (81% at our calculations, so a little above).
Maths, level 4+, is 4% lower at 75%, (our calcs say 76%) compared to 79%.
It’s where the higher levels of attainment are reached for that the gap become most noticeable.
Level 5 English average at 25% (Our calcs 24%) is 7%(/8%) lower than the England average of 32%.
Maths level 5 is a full 10% lower at 24%, compared with 34% across England.
The Average point score of the Isle of Wight is 26.9, compared to the England average of 27.5.
