Flood alert for Isle of Wight coastline

The Environment Agency have issued a flood alert for the Isle of Wight coastline this morning.

They say that high tide is predicted for 11:15am this morning.

Island Roads have issued details of where sand bags can be collected for those at risk of flooding.

The Environment Agency also say,

“Force 6 Water levels will be high around slipways and some minor flooding into low lying roads close to the sea front is possible.

“Given the current forecast property flooding from the tide is not expected.”

What Biffa has done is very similar to the Wightlink – Macquarrie acquisition. Speculators pay way over the odds for a sound business, often this occurs several times. Each new owner becomes further detached from reality. They do not fear the enormous debt, because the basic business makes great profits and has excellent cash-flow. Control being handed to the banks doesn’t imply Biffa going out of business. That would only happen if the business was not operating profitably, and the banks’ only hope of getting back what they were owed was to wind up the business and strip it of its assets.
