Did you witness Ryde assault last night? (updated)

This just in from the police, in their own words. Ed


A 46-year-old man was walking along Adelaide Place, Ryde, close to the junction with Ratcliffe Avenue, when he was approached by a group of four men at 7.10pm on Wednesday 13th April.

He was assaulted, leaving him with swelling to his face, damage to his teeth and a cut to his head.

The four men are described as being aged between 18 and 20 years old.

Detective Constable Lee Parker said:

“We know that this area is popular with dog walkers and people playing football so we would urge anyone who may have seen this assault to come forward.

“We are particularly keen to speak to a female aged between 18 and 20 years old and a white haired man walking a black/brown staffy type dog who were both scene in the area at the time, as they may have information that can assist our investigation.

“We believe this is an isolated incident and we are doing everything we can to ensure those responsible are arrested.”
