69ers Book Signing and Music Event Tonight At Waterstones

VB readers may remember last month we ran a report on the launch of a book called 69ers: A Novel About the 1969 Isle of Wight Festival of Music.

Cover of 69ers: A Novel About the 1969 Isle of Wight Festival of MusicTonight sees the Isle of Wight launch of the book, with the author making his first trip back to the Island for 42 years.

Jon Blake was brought up in Southampton but the Island was his second home when growing up. He spent time at the IW Festival in 1969 where his Dad, who owned Wessex Equipment on Swanmore Rd, Ryde was working as electrical contractor.

Jon will be at Waterstones from 7pm tonight (Monday), for an evening of music, spoken word and book signings.

All are welcome at the event where various Island artists will be performing Dylan songs, along with some displays of the unique material that Jon has from the 1969 Festival.

Should be a good one and well worth stepping out for.
