As mentioned earlier, a number of Flood Alerts and Flood Warnings are in place on the Isle of Wight.
The Environment Agency have just issued another Flood Warning for Monktonmead Brook.
They say that flooding is expected for Ryde on the Monktonmead Brook with immediate action required. A total of 80 properties are expected to be affect in this area.
Over 24mm of rainfall has fallen in the last 24 hours. As a result the Monktonmead Brook river level have risen rapidly. Flooding from the surface water system may occur. The next high tide is at 11:48 today and this will impede the rate at which the river is able to drain.
The Environment Agency Pumping Station has one pump in operation at the current time. Additionally, we have temporary pumps working and operation staff are site over the next high tide. Additionally we will be clearing the grill upstream of the Pumping Station.
