£8,000 raised from Randonnee cyclists donated to Isle of Wight causes

This year, for the first time since 2019, the annual Wayfarers Randonnee returned.

Around 2,500 people, from all across the UK, cycled around the Isle of Wight on the first bank holiday of the year.

This year numbers were restricted due to Covid and there were five designated stops, mainly manned by local PTA groups, providing refreshments.

One of the organising committee, Vic Mann, told News OnTheWight,

“We believe this to be the largest free cycling event in the UK, if not Europe. From the proceeds of donations and badge sales, we were able to donate £8,000, split between the four charities, Aspire Ryde, Isle of Wight Youth Trust, Air Ambulance and Wessex Cancer Trust IOW.”
