Nigel Hayles Award for Services to Isle of Wight Music
Today we find out who is the winner of the Nigel Hayles Award for Services to Isle of Wight Music Award.
Here’s Andy Barding from AAA Records again,
“We’re delighted to announce that the Nigel Hayles Award for Services to Isle of Wight Music goes to Platform One!
“Our Island’s very own boutique music university is our bedrock – the heart that pumps the rockin’ Vectis lifeblood.
“Its alumni are all over the charts, touring all over the globe, playing pretty much every night everywhere.
“P1 students provide the tech that makes our Island boogie and the performers of the future that keep us on our toes.
“Their regular showcase events at Strings, the occasional industry conference at Quay Arts and other pop up events cement this important contribution to Island culture.
“And special kudos indeed to the Platform One presence at the Isle of Wight Festival.
“The P1 tent really is the place to be, you know. Everybody who crowds around the main stage risks going home a little deflated. That’s not the case with the P1 tent. We at AAA have had some of our favourite festival adventures in there.
“All week, Platform One have been celebrating the local music scene on their socials. Today, we send some of that applause back at them. Our picture shows P1 boss David Pontin with his goldie lookin’ disc.
“Well done Platform One!”
