Totland Pier
Totland Pier, on the West coast of the Isle of Wight, was built in 1880, to be used to allow paddle steamers to dock, enabling passenger to visit the hotels in Totland.
Bought by Derek Barran in the 1990s to use as his artist studio, Derek privately sold it in 2010.
The new owner undertook to rebuild it, struggling with the Isle of Wight council planning department, who were concerned about the risks of flooding(!).
It has changed hands a couple of times since then and as of November 2022 has been owned by The Woolridge Group.
Below are the articles OnTheWight has published about Totland Pier over the years.
