Wightlink sponsored Ryde Rowing Club held its Annual Presentation Dinner on the 3rd October held at Yelfs Hotel, Ryde, where the Club was founded in 1877.
Club Captain, Pete Allsopp, welcomed the members and guests and thanked them for attending and for their support of the Club over the last year and extended a special thank you to the Club’s guests of honour, Robert Wester and his wife Vanessa, of Carisbrooke Shipping, who sponsored the Club Regatta and contributed to the purchase of new equipment.
Following a presentation on the Club’s achievements in 2015, which included three South Coast Rowing Championships Open event wins, Robert helped the Club’s Rowing Captain Mick Jenner present the Annual Awards.
The Coxswain’s Cup was awarded to Austin Smith; Kate Whitehurst was awarded the Ladies Trophy with Dale Buckett receiving the Men’s award.
The Coach’s Cup was awarded to Josie Bull and the Committee Cup to Angela Clark with the Captain’s Cup awarded to Ben Toms.
