Thanks to Adam for sending through details of this challenge taking place next Sunday. Ed
The Air Training Corps (ATC) are staging a small endurance event this Sunday 19th June 2011 whereby the 1024 Squadron cadets will be broken into two groups.
The event will consist of a cycle challenge and series of timed trials to demonstrate the cadet’s skills to the general public.
We are hoping this event will help raise awareness for the 1024 Squadron in the local community, bring in new members and raise vital funds for the Isle of Wight ATC group.
1024 Squadron is now one of only two squadrons in the Hants Isle of Wight Wing which has been in existence for 70 years.
The squadron would like to recruit new cadets to join “A” flight Head based in Ryde. This does not only involve 13 to 18 year old boys and girls, but the associated mums and dads and ex service personnel that may wish to lend some voluntary time each week training the people of tomorrow.
