A man attempting to walk 6,500 miles around the coast of Britain raising money and awareness for the RNLI is currently on the Isle of Wight.
Alexander Ellis-Roswell set off from Minnis Bay, Kent on Sunday 3rd August and plans to spend the next two years walking around Britain. Earlier this week, he arrived on the Island.
He says,
“The RNLI save on average 23 lives at sea every single day.
“In my opinion, they’re heroes. They put themselves right in the thick of what is Britain’s most unforgiving environment- our sea.
“They receive no government funding for their work and the majority of lifeboat crew members are volunteers.”
He’s using the hashtag #LongWalkRound on Twitter and you can also follow Alex’s journey by connecting with him on Facebook.
