Thanks to Heath for this reminder about Sunday’s new event at Aspire. Ed
The Big Lunch event will be opened this Sunday by the High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight, who is looking forward to tasting some of the free desserts and treats available.
It’s a bid to get the community of Ryde together to chat, get to know one another, find out what is happening at Ryde’s main community venue ‘Aspire’, look at volunteering opportunities with a volunteer fair with lots of voluntary sector organisations attending and also take a peek at some of the goods that are available at the vintage & craft fair.
The Big Lunch
The Big Lunch was set up by The Eden Project as a way of attracting people together to look at community issues and improve their neighbourhoods.
Ryde Big Lunch organiser Heath Monaghan said,
“The Big Lunch is an important part of what we are trying to achieve here at Aspire Ryde. As it brings the community together, we can find out what we all want and need, hopefully get to know each other and become a real community, able to help each other and possibly even become friends.”
The Big Lunch takes place from midday on Sunday 7th June at Aspire Ryde, the former Holy Trinity church on Dover Street, Ryde – everyone is welcome.
