Another Covid milestone has been passed on the Isle of Wight as more than 200,000 vaccines have been given out.
Figures from NHS England show since the rollout of the Coronavirus vaccines began in December last year, through to 8th August, 200,887 jabs have been issued.
Breakdown of doses
A total of 105,895 first and 94,992 second doses have been given, equating to 71.7 per cent and 64.4 per cent, respectively, of the Island’s entire population.
It comes in the week when the government announced more than 75 per cent of adults in England are double-jabbed.
77 per cent had two jabs
On the Island, 77 per cent of the Island’s 123,012 over 18s have had two vaccinations.
Of the under 18s, 254 people have had both doses.
Recently released figures from Public Health England stated the Covid-19 vaccines have prevented 84,600 deaths and almost 23.4 million infections.
