Another mammoth challenge notched up by fundraising Islander

Congratulations are in order for Isle of Wight fundraiser extraordinaire, Ian Gregory, who has smashed yet another challenge in his long list of challenges for 2022.

Raising money for Prostate Cancer and Daddy’s Little Girl’s Fund, Ian has recently completed the 100km Nightrider in London, and last weekend he completed the infamous Dragon Ride Gran Fondo, a 213km, (132 mile), bike ride up through the closed roads of the Brecon Beacons.

And there’s more
Up next will be a 10,000ft Skydive out at Sandown Airport, followed by The Big Half Marathon in London in September (having already completed one in April).

Ian rounds off his year of challenges in October with a 157 miles cycle ride around the M25 in one day.

Against the odds
The challenges that Ian sets himself are even more impressive when you understand that more than two decades ago he was diagnosed Fibromyalgia, a chronic pain disorder, eight damaged discs in his spine, Arthritis and Tempro-mandibular dysfunction disorder, but despite this he has cycled over 25,000 miles since 2016 raising thousands of pounds for the charity.

Who will benefit
He has traditionally raised money for the Prostate Cancer charity, but now, after tragically losing his son last year, Ian will be splitting any money raised this year between Prostate Cancer and ‘Daddy’s Little Girl Fund’ – a fund set up for his son’s daughter, Esme.
