Detectives are appealing for information after an attempted robbery and stabbing was reported in Southsea.
A 21-year-old man from the Isle of Wight was walking near St. Bartholomew Gardens in Outram Road between 10.10pm and 10.20pm on Sunday, June 26, 2011.
It’s alleged another man approached him, demanded his wallet and threatened him with a small knife. He attempted to stab the victim who blocked the force of the assault.
The victim received injuries, which were not life-threatening, just above his right hip.
The suspect made off towards Albert Road without stealing any property.
Description of suspect
The suspect was described as:
> White
> 18 – 21 years old
> 6 ft 2 ins tall
> Skinny build
> Blisters and burns on his right hand
At the time of the attempted robbery, the suspect was said to be wearing:
> A grey hooded top
> Black tracksuit
> A black balaclava
Detectives are pursuing several lines of enquiry in the local community.
