Art graduates launch eco-creative workshops for young people on the Isle of Wight

George Budden and Maddy Thompson, both 23-year-old art graduates, have announced a series of eight creative workshops for young people on the Isle of Wight.

The young artists, currently residing in Freshwater as part of an artist residency, aim to make their techniques both accessible and reproducible for enthusiasts to try at home, with the promise of delving into the use of local and sustainable materials.

A winter of artistic discovery
Beginning this coming weekend (11th November) and running through to late January, the workshops will be hosted at Dimbola Museum and Galleries.

Located in the picturesque Freshwater Bay, this historic venue offers a unique blend of spaces including a gallery, library, as well as a specially equipped darkroom.

Inclusivity and collaboration
The workshops are open to Islanders aged 16 to 25, whether they are working or aspiring artists, or simply enjoy crafting as a leisure activity.

George and Maddy are keen to foster a community of young art lovers and will encourage collaboration and the sharing of ideas during these interactive sessions.

You can see all the workshops listed on Events OnTheWight. They range from Seaweed Developing and Recycled Mosaics, to Papermaking and Bookbinding and Natural Dyes.

Tickets are just £3 each and can be booked via the Outsavvy website.
