Aspire Singers, a community choir for people who enjoy music and laughter, is inviting new members to join ahead of the festive season.
For the past four years, the group has met every Tuesday evening at Aspire Ryde, where members have built friendships, improved their singing and performed at events across the Isle of Wight.
Singing across the Island
The choir has taken to stages at the Ventnor Fringe Festival, Riverfest, and a variety of community gatherings.
Their repertoire includes musical theatre favourites, pop classics from across the decades, and even a crowd-pleasing rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Festive performances planned
New members joining this autumn will have the chance to take part in several festive events.
These include performing at the Aspire Christmas Fayre to raise funds for the charity, carol singing around Ryde, and visiting local care homes to share some Christmas cheer.
A welcoming and friendly group
Choir leader Jess Ong says,
“Aspire Singers is a lovely, friendly group, open to all ages and abilities. It has become a bit of a lifeline for some of our members, who can let off steam and take a break from their busy lives by singing their hearts out with others. Everyone always leaves feeling lighter, with a smile on their face.”

When and where
From Tuesday 21st October, Aspire Singers will meet in the Community Hall at Aspire Ryde, Trinity Buildings, Dover Street, Ryde, PO33 2BN, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
Tea and coffee will be available, and everyone can look forward to a lively mix of songs each week.
