The Mermaid Atlantic team are just £20,000 away from getting ‘over the line’ with their Atlantic Challenge sponsorship target.
Mermaid Atlantic is a three-year project that culminates at the end of 2023, when three men from the Isle of Wight set off from La Gomera to cross the Atlantic Ocean in their Rannoch 45 rowing boat on an epic 3,000-nautical-mile journey.
The three Islanders taking part in the iconic Atlantic Challenge are Xavier Baker (IW Distillery), Paul Berry (round-Island rower and Blakes Longshoremen) and Chris Mannion (iSurf). They’ve been busy planning, training and raising awareness of the challenge, but now there are just five weeks until the beautiful Mermaid Atlantic is shipped off to the Canary Islands in a container.
Sponsor the team
There’s still time to get involved with sponsorship and have your name or logo added to the boat.
Visit the Mermaid Atlantic Website to find out more about how to sponsor the team, or if you know of a wealthy individual or business that could get involved, point them in this direction.
Make a donation
The team are also taking part in the challenge in order to raise £2,500 each for three charities related to the oceans: The Seahorse Trust, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and Surfers Against Sewage.
If you’d like to make a donation to any of the three charities, you can do this via the Mermaid Atlantic Website.
