Letter: The electorate’s role in addressing alleged Government financial irregularities

This from Callum Harris, Ventnor. Ed

Why would you make huge donations to a Political Party if you didn’t want something in return, perhaps a Knighthood, seat in the House of Lords, VIP treatment with privileged access to Government Ministers, or be first in the queue when it comes to receiving £multi-million contracts?

It has been reported that less than 2% of fraud has been recovered, which begs the question have successive Conservative Prime Ministers been chosen by Conservative Party members on the basis of their ability to protect the status-quo, and what many see as a very lucrative thiefdom that targets taxpayer money?

£billions have been had away by the chumocracy. Imagine what good this money would have done had it been available to invested in public services, and in our communities.

In short has Britain, under this Conservative Government, become little better than a banana republic where filling your boots by maxing out the Treasury’s credit-card is the name of the game? If so, then surely it falls upon the electorate to clean out this slime ridden cesspit by getting rid of the lot of them at the next General Election.
