Organised by the Sandown Forum, the scene was set by Cllr Heather Humby, followed by a pop-up violin concerto played by Cllr Debbie Andre in the spirit of the original day
The biodiversity pioneers from Sandown will develop and upscale new ways of enhancing and protecting urban coast and estuary ecosystems at test sites in the Solent and on the north coast of France.
The purpose of the sand snowman event is to encourage people to head to the Bay in winter and remind them that it’s an extraordinary place worth exploring.
The Micro-Eye is coming all the way from New Zealand and is a very tough bit of kit, designed to be safe and easy for any age and so will be accessible to all of our thousands of visitors.
Come snow or shine, join the folks from The Common Space on the Science Beach in Sandown on Saturday for this free event to build your very own sandman or woman! Carrots, coal and hot chocolate on tap.
The Bay science team from Arc, Artecology, The Common Space, Dinosaur Isle and The National Poo Museum will all be at the free event on Sunday 14th October.
