Rowing regattas at the weekend saw a third win of the season for Ladies Junior Pairs at Coalporters and frustration for the J15 squad at the Wessex Junior.
Glorious weather heralded the opening Regatta of the Hants & Dorset Amateur Rowing Association Championship program for 2014, hosted by Ryde Rowing Club, from the beach at Appley on Saturday (17th May).
Some very close racing is expected and the general public are most welcome to view this free event - the best vantage point being from the sea wall by the Canoe Lake.
Ryde Rowing Club maintained their strong record of regional representation when five of their Junior oarsman were selected to represent the Wessex Region and compete in the National Junior Inter-Regional's Regatta at the National Water sports Centre, Nottingham, on Saturday (26th April).
Four Crews from Ryde Rowing Club travelled to Southampton on Saturday (19th April) to compete in the traditional curtain raiser to the Coastal Season, the Southampton Coastal Fours Head of the River, a time trial over a three and a half mile course on the River Itchen.
